JSP/WML based front-end for the mobilist routing system
Description of the project Technologies used
  • The aim of the project is based on an application of JSP, which communicates like a mobile front-end with the DaimlerChrysler " mobilist " routing system.
  • The reason for the use of JSP is the separation of the WML Pages from the site logic. If new media are created, the presentation of the WML pages can be made without any modification of the application logic (Java Scriptlets).
  • The application will output pure WML, which are created dynamically, towards the client.
  • On the other page the application will communicate with the Routing module via CORBA.
  • Input and output are considered with CORBA IDL.

The application mainly contains three functions:

  • Calculation and representation of a route from a to b, access to the last calculated distance.
  • Handling of user preferences, e.g. addresses, which are determined as starting point or last point.

WAP retailer portal
Description of the project Technologies used

The WAP portal page represents a hierarchical link list for the access to the individual portal applications by the final user. Furthermore the current information can be illustrated on different menu levels. The portal page can not  be personalized by the final customer. The portal page forms the entrance into the WAP Handler portal.

Running of the application:

For the use of the individual applications of the WAP Handler portals the user calls the WAP portal page under URL communicated in advance. An authentication  by the user is not necessary. By the links on the left of the start page different applications of the portal can be called by the user. The applications for the first step are:

  • Forum-Shop
  • WAP Lottery game
  • Latest news
